INNIO has secured a firm order for 450MW of power infrastructure from a US-based energy company to support large-scale data centre developments in North America.
The order, consisting of Jenbacher J624 containerised gas engines, was booked in the third quarter of 2026.

The engines are scheduled to be delivered by 2028. The identity of the energy company has not been disclosed, following standard confidentiality practices within the data centre sector.
INNIO stated that this is the first order of its scale from the customer. The power units will be deployed as behind-the-metre solutions, enabling data centre operators to access power independently of the local electricity grid.
This approach is designed to address rising concerns over grid capacity as demand for data centre services increases, particularly in relation to AI and high-performance computing workloads.
