DIMAAG-AI is partnering with Toshiba International to develop energy storage systems for AI data centres.
The project will combine Toshiba’s SCiB lithium titanium oxide battery cells with DIMAAG’s ZettaWatt Power Platform.

The platform features a modular grid-to-800 VDC design that combines energy storage, power conversion, and real-time controls. The system has been developed to meet the rising demands placed on data centres by large-scale AI workloads.
The project aims to deliver load smoothing, backup power, grid ride-through, demand response, and the ability to respond to evolving utility and ISO requirements.
Toshiba’s SCiB LTO battery cells have been selected for integration into the ZettaWatt platform due to their capability to support continuous 10C charge and discharge cycles, together with a targeted service life exceeding 10 years.
DIMAAG’s immersion-cooled battery architecture is designed to maintain stability and performance under these conditions. Toshiba reports that more than 100 million SCiB cells have been shipped since 2010, with a decade of service in various applications.
DIMAAG will oversee the design, manufacture, and integration of the complete battery system. Toshiba will provide the battery cells, drawing on its manufacturing scale and field experience.
The two companies highlighted the system’s ability to meet ERCOT’s low-voltage ride-through requirements and to reduce cyclic AI load fluctuations to less than 1% as observed by the grid.
Multiple ZettaWatt platforms can be deployed in parallel to support campus growth.
DIMAAG CTO and Tesla co-founder Ian Wright said: “Energy storage in an AI data centre must do far more than bridge an outage. It must absorb rapid load swings, support grid ride-through, provide backup power and respond repeatedly without becoming a constraint on the system.
“Combining Toshiba’s established SCiB battery cell technology into DIMAAG’s active-flow immersion-cooled Zenius modules within the ZettaWatt Power Platform delivers differentiated performance for high-power, high-duty-cycle requirements of AI data centres.”
The collaboration expands the use of SCiB-based storage to a wider range of data centre and mission-critical environments.
DIMAAG operates in the US, India and Japan, focusing on AI and power systems, while Toshiba International works across several industrial sectors, including the data centre market.
Prior to this, DIMAAG launched the ZettaWatt Power Platform, a modular system targeting hyperscale AI data centres.
