Germany-based INNIO has secured a 620MW follow-on equipment order from a US developer and operator of mega-scale data centre campuses.

Booked in September 2026, the agreement raises cumulative power orders from the customer to nearly 1.72GW, following an initial 1.1GW commitment announced in July 2026.

The company will supply the entire 620MW capacity as containerised Jenbacher J624 solutions to facilitate standardised installation and rapid site deployment.

In line with standard data centre sector confidentiality practices, the client’s identity was not disclosed.

Alongside the generation hardware, the data centre operator entered into a long-term full maintenance agreement including the first 500MW of equipment procured under the earlier contract.

This servicing package includes all replacement parts and labour through to a major overhaul.

The overhaul process provides the gas engines with a second operational lifecycle by replacing key components, protecting long-term equipment performance and availability whilst expanding recurring maintenance revenues for INNIO.

INNIO president and CEO Dr Olaf Berlien said: “This follow-on order, coming just months after the customer’s initial 1.1GW order, underscores the strength of customer demand and continued confidence in INNIO.

“Our containerised Jenbacher solutions deliver what data centres need most: fast deployment, high power density, fuel efficiency, and the performance to support demanding AI workloads.

“Repeat orders of this scale, combined with long-term service agreements, strengthen our backlog and expand the services base that underpins our business model.”

INNIO manufactures and maintains on-site generation systems under its Jenbacher and Waukesha brands for data centres, grid stabilisation, microgrids, gas compression, and industrial energy.

The company provides behind-the-meter generation assets featuring quick-start capabilities and fuel flexibility, including hydrogen-ready equipment, to address rising power demands driven by AI, electrification, and grid constraints.

As of 31 December 2025, INNIO employed more than 5,000 personnel globally, with commercial activities across around 100 countries.
