VEIR has completed an oversubscribed $110m Series C funding round to expedite the commercialisation of its superconducting power delivery systems for AI data centres.
The US-based company plans to use the capital to broaden manufacturing capacity, expand its product portfolio, and transition from technology validation into commercial deployment.

Matter Venture Partners and Tyche Partners co-led the round, which also drew investment from Gates Frontier, LG Technology Ventures, Hui Capital, and Sabanci Climate Ventures.
Previous investors including Galvanize Climate Solutions, Piva Capital, Engine Ventures, VXI Capital, and Congruent Ventures also participated. The fundraise brings the total capital secured by the business to $225m.
According to VEIR, surging demand for AI infrastructure has placed heightened pressure on data centre power density and speed-to-power.
Expanding campus sizes and heavier energy requirements have exposed bottlenecks in traditional copper-based electrical infrastructure, where substantial space requirements, material demands, and labour constraints can delay large-scale facilities.
To alleviate these limitations, VEIR is developing an architecture connecting superconducting cables with termination units, cryogenic cooling, controls, and monitoring.
The integrated design delivers greater electrical capacity within a reduced physical footprint.
This configuration aims to provide data centre operators with greater layout flexibility while reducing material usage, labour expenses, and installation complexity, initially targeting behind-the-meter AI facilities.
VEIR CEO Tim Heidel said: “AI infrastructure is advancing at a pace that requires us to rethink how power is delivered, not simply optimise the systems that exist today.
“This financing gives us the resources to move from demonstrating the potential of superconducting power delivery to manufacturing and deploying systems at commercial scale.”
VEIR has already demonstrated an operational 3MW superconducting power delivery system.
Looking ahead, the company is preparing for its initial commercial installations and collaborating with customers and industry partners on AI-factory reference designs.
It is also building the supply chain, deployment, and manufacturing infrastructure required for larger market rollouts.
