Nvidia and IREN, a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider, have partnered to accelerate the rollout of up to 5GW of AI infrastructure, with an associated investment right of up to $2.1bn.

Under the partnership, both companies plan to deploy Nvidia data centre design and simulation (DSX)-aligned infrastructure within IREN’s global data centre development.

The collaboration will centre on integrating Nvidia’s accelerated computing technology in DSX AI factories to widen access for start-ups and enterprise clients.

Under the arrangement, IREN has granted NVIDIA a five-year option to buy up to 30 million ordinary shares at $70 per share, allowing NVIDIA to invest up to $2.1bn, subject to regulatory approvals and other specified conditions.

This investment mechanism is designed to support the partnership’s long-term objectives.

The companies intend to focus initial development at IREN’s 2GW Sweetwater campus in Texas, which is expected to represent a primary deployment site for Nvidia’s DSX architecture.

IREN provides vertically integrated AI cloud services, including large-scale data centres and GPU clusters for AI workloads.

Its operations are supported by a portfolio of grid-connected land and power in regions with high levels of renewable energy across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific.
