Arcus Infrastructure Partners, through Arcus European Infrastructure Fund 4, has signed a definitive agreement to purchase all shares in Volta Data Centres, currently operating as Verne’s UK data centre.
The facility, offering 6MW of carrier-neutral colocation and interconnection services, is located in central London and currently supports clients in sectors including financial services, telecommunications, IT, and enterprise.

It is described as having stable contracted revenues and low customer churn.
Verne stated that more than 40 on-site carriers and over 1,200 cross-connects form part of its connectivity infrastructure.
The acquisition follows Arcus’ earlier data centre investments, including its involvement with Portus Data Centres via Arcus European Infrastructure Fund 3.
It comes after an 18-month review of data centre markets in Europe, during which the UK was identified as a market with growing demand, limited supply, and long-term investment potential.
Arcus senior investment director Charlie Scott said: “Volta is an excellent fit with our AEIF4 investment strategy, providing critical digital infrastructure at the heart of one of Europe’s premier colocation markets.
“The business stood out as a high-quality investment combining stable contracted revenues, an entrenched position in London’s connectivity ecosystem and a clear pathway for growth and commercial improvements, supported by an experienced site team.
“Colocation has been a strategic focus for Arcus since 2024. We look forward to partnering with the Volta team to support the next phase of the business’s growth, and building on this entry point with further acquisitions.”
Verne has described the sale as part of a broader shift in its strategy. The company intends to concentrate its investments and resources on low-carbon, high-density data centre infrastructure in Northern Europe.
The completion of the transaction is anticipated in July 2026, subject to contractual requirements. Both companies were advised by several financial, legal, technical, and commercial consultants.
