Advantech has announced a new series of server and network platforms for data centres, built on the AMD EPYC 9006 Series processors.

The release introduces a range of equipment aimed at supporting AI, high performance computing, storage, networking, and industrial workloads from core data centre environments to edge deployments.

The latest servers from Advantech use the 6th generation of AMD EPYC central processing units (CPU), which incorporate up to 128 cores and 256 threads, “Zen 6” and “Zen 6c” architecture, and advanced 2nm technology.

These chips deliver up to 20% generational performance improvement and up to 20% better performance per watt, according to the company’s figures. The processors also enable data centres to increase virtual machine density and system throughput.

Support for up to 128 PCIe Gen6 lanes per CPU, CXL 3.1 memory expansion, DDR5 8000MHz, and MRDIMM 12800MHz aims to deliver balanced computing, memory, and I/O resources for AI, telco, and storage systems.

The new product lineup includes models such as the SKY-642E5 4U MGX graphics processing unit (GPU) server for AI acceleration, SKY-722E5 2U data centre–modular hardware system (DC-MHS) server for modular deployments, and SKY-712E5 1U DC-MHS server for high-density applications.

Other models are the SKY-822E5 2U short-depth server for edge data centres, SKY-924E5F 2U 4-node front-access server for distributed edge computing, as well as ASMB-982 and ASMB-832 server boards.

Additionally, Advantech introduced the FWA-6084, a 2U network appliance designed to address network security and edge AI requirements, featuring eight Gen6 network module cards and GPU expansion capability.

These new platforms all support PCIe Gen6, high-speed DDR5/MRDIMM memory and are equipped to manage the requirements of low-latency, high-throughput AI and edge-cloud workloads.

Advantech stated that the portfolio is intended to help customers manage deployment risk and plan for long-term infrastructure needs.
