XTX Markets’ new data centre forms part of its ongoing investment programme aimed at increasing the company’s future computing capacity. The wider plan includes a commitment to invest more than €1bn ($1.15bn) in a data centre campus in Kajaani.
This latest agreement marks the continuation of YIT’s partnership with XTX Markets in the region. Construction of the first data centre began in 2024, with a second facility following in 2025. The new development adds to the growing digital infrastructure in Kajaani.
YIT Infrastructure segment EVP Aleksi Laine said: “We are pleased to continue our collaboration with XTX Markets and to begin construction of a third data centre in Kajaani. This long-term partnership reflects strong trust in our capabilities, as well as excellent collaboration with the customer and our partners.
“Data centres require a high level of technical expertise, and as Finland’s largest data centre builder, YIT has extensive experience in delivering them. We continue to see significant growth potential in the data centre market and are well positioned to support new customers in implementing their investments.”
According to the companies, the presence of data centre projects such as these contributes to Finland’s appeal as a destination for large-scale data centre investment, while also supporting the position of Kajaani as a key location for digital infrastructure.
YIT operates in seven countries and reported revenue of €1.8bn in 2025.
