Vaisala has introduced the Indigo Supervisor, a centralised environmental monitoring system designed to manage up to 100 measurement points across data centre facilities.
Scheduled for commercial release in early 2027, the host unit connects distributed measurement probes into a unified network, addressing industry requirements as operators expand capacity for AI workloads.

Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
The product launch reflects an operational shift from managing individual sensors to overseeing system-level measurement networks.
Higher computing densities and accelerated construction schedules have increased the need for environmental monitoring across data halls, technical spaces, and critical support areas, while reducing the time available for installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.
Vaisala HVAC and critical buildings product line manager Anu Kätkä said: “AI is accelerating data centre growth at a pace that is changing how supporting infrastructure is deployed, managed, and scaled.
“When a facility contains dozens or hundreds of measurement points, environmental monitoring can no longer be managed one sensor at a time.
“Operators need a system-level approach to environmental monitoring that can be commissioned efficiently, maintained without disrupting operations, and scaled consistently as capacity expands.”
The Indigo Supervisor functions as a central host unit supporting up to two independent daisy-chained lines, with each chain holding up to 50 compact measurement probes. It is compatible with Vaisala XMP10, HMP110, HMP113, and TMP115 probes.
For facility-wide management, the hardware integrates directly into building management systems using a single standardised Modbus transmission control protocol (TCP) connection.
The unit includes an integrated local touchscreen interface for probe replacement, local dashboards, live measurement visibility, alarm management, and calibration details.
Operators can also perform system commissioning through web-based tools and export configuration files in comma-separated values (CSV) format to support multi-site rollouts and standardise deployments across expanding infrastructure.
In addition to data centres, Vaisala stated that the Indigo Supervisor architecture is suited to other environments requiring multi-point tracking.
These applications include cleanrooms, cold storage facilities, laboratories, greenhouses, and industrial process facilities.
