Thailand based True Internet Data Center (True IDC), a subsidiary of the Charoen Pokphand Group, has launched the construction of its seventh data centre in northern Bangkok, with a planned investment exceeding Bt6bn ($182m).
The facility is expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2027 and aims to address the rising demand for cloud and AI services in Thailand.

True IDC has stated that the facility will offer advanced infrastructure with “high-standard data centre services,” intended for both Thai and international organisations that require extensive data processing capabilities.
True IDC managing director Thanasorn Jaidee said: “Today, Cloud and AI are crucial mechanisms and engines driving and enhancing business competitiveness. According to IDC, investments in AI and GenAI in the Asia-Pacific region will grow fivefold, reaching a value of Bt11tn by 2029, representing an average annual growth rate of 38.4%. However, a major challenge for businesses today is accessing AI Hyperscale-level infrastructure capable of fully supporting advanced processing.
“Our goal is to build a world-class data centre to support such infrastructure. This project is designed as a data centre with high processing capabilities, featuring a massive core network connectivity hub located in a business district, to enable both Thai and international organisations to access superior digital infrastructure.”
The facility will provide connections to what True IDC describes as the largest core network hub in Thailand, facilitating data exchange on a national and international scale.
Designed using modular construction for high-rise buildings, the centre will feature multi-layered power systems, high-density central processing unit (CPU) and graphics processing unit (GPU) chip support, as well as both air and liquid cooling options.
The company noted that operations will align with Uptime Institute standards and compliance with international organisation for standardisation (ISO) 14001 and ISO 50001 for environmental and energy management.
True IDC identified the site’s location near expanding business districts in northern Bangkok as a strategic advantage for service accessibility and disaster resilience.
