Starcloud has announced a $250m extension to its Series A funding, pushing the company’s valuation to $2.3bn, to scale AI with orbital data centres.

The company is building data centres in space for solving the AI energy bottleneck.

The investment was spearheaded by Manhattan West with existing supporters such as Benchmark, EQT, Soma, NFX, and 776.

It also attracted new interest from NVIDIA, Cisco Investments, Goanna Capital, Cedar Capital, and Standard Capital.

This extension brings Starcloud’s total funding to $450m since it was established in 2024.

Starcloud’s collaboration with NVIDIA commenced with the launch of the first NVIDIA H100 GPU into orbit aboard the Starcloud-1 satellite in November 2025.

Both companies are currently involved in developing NVIDIA’s Space-1 Vera Rubin Module, designed to operate under space’s extreme conditions. The module utilises large radiators for cooling, and its components are built to withstand radiation.

The firm has marked significant achievements in space-based computing, including training the first AI model and running Google’s Gemini in orbit.

Starcloud, aiming to create a constellation of 88,000 satellites and 20GW of orbital computing capacity, is advancing with the development of its Starcloud-3 spacecraft. Production lines are being established in Woodinville, Washington, at a facility stretching over 100,000ft2.

Cisco’s involvement as a new investor adds substantial expertise in networking, optical, and AI infrastructure to the initiative. Ken Abdalla and Lauren Selig from Manhattan West led the funding round, with Selig also joining as a board observer.

Cisco Investments is excited to invest in Starcloud as they expand data centres into space.”

The newly acquired capital will support the expansion of manufacturing capabilities, further engineering collaborations with NVIDIA, and the procurement of future launch allocations.
