Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) subsidiary HyperVault has acquired 264 acres of land in Hyderabad, Telangana, India to build a 1GW AI data centre campus, with an investment of up to Rs700bn ($7.41bn).
This funding will come from HyperVault and its partners, who will build and operate the infrastructure.

The company said the campus would be built in phases, with expansion tied to customer demand and changes in technology requirements.
The site is intended to host high-density graphics processing unit (GPU) deployments for AI training, inference and other advanced computing workloads, with frontier AI companies and hyperscalers identified as the target customers.
HyperVault said the build-out would use green energy and water-neutral design principles.
The project aims to stimulate India’s AI infrastructure ecosystem, impacting areas such as power, cooling, construction, networking, engineering, and operations.
It is expected to create several direct and indirect jobs in the region.

HyperVault’s facilities are liquid-cooled and use direct-to-chip cooling, high rack density, network connectivity and an energy model combining green power with reliability, serving hyperscalers, AI firms and global enterprises.
Earlier this year, AMD and TCS announced plans to jointly develop a new rack-scale AI infrastructure in India, using the AMD “Helios” platform.
