US-based firm DP World has expanded its specialised logistics network to support nearly 50 data centre facilities across the US.
The operational scale-up addresses rising supply chain pressures driven by the rapid buildout of AI and cloud infrastructure.

The company now manages transport, staging, and deployment services for major hyperscalers and technology enterprises.
DP World’s global data centre and cloud operations span over 80 countries and support five of the seven largest technology corporations in the world.
Across these activities, the company oversees nearly $2bn in hardware assets while recording an inventory accuracy rate exceeding 99%.
DP World America data centre strategy vice-president Ya-Han Brownlee-Chen said: “The infrastructure powering AI depends on an increasingly sophisticated global supply chain. A delayed server, transformer, or other critical component can have implications well beyond transportation when data centres are being built and commissioned against demanding timelines.
“Our expanding US footprint brings transportation, inventory management, configuration, and deployment capabilities together to give customers greater control from origin through installation. Every piece of equipment has to be accounted for, protected, and delivered at the right point in the deployment schedule.
“By combining global transportation with inventory visibility, configuration, secure handling, and specialised delivery, we can reduce handoffs and give customers greater control over infrastructure that is increasingly critical to their growth.”
The logistical expansion comes amid mounting operational risks for data centre operators.
DP World’s integrated American infrastructure links international cargo movement with regional warehousing, server configuration, rack assembly, quality testing, and reverse logistics.
For one global technology company, the provider implemented a cleanroom-monitored facility capable of assembling up to 75 customised server racks per week, delivering around 1,300 units each year.
The operational format has since been introduced at three additional international sites.
