The cooling system is engineered to run at elevated chilled-water temperatures and incorporates built-in free cooling.

This configuration allows free-cooling operation to take place without shutting down the unit, while an integrated heat exchanger reduces the physical footprint needed for installation.

In the event of a power failure, the chiller can restart in under 120 seconds. This rapid start-up capability is designed to accelerate cooling recovery and lower buffer tank demands, equipment space requirements, and upfront capital expenditure.

Carrier Japan president Mineo Maruyama said: “Carrier has developed a broad range technologies and solutions for data centre markets around the world, and Carrier Japan will continue to strengthen the value we bring to customers in Japan by leveraging our global expertise and innovation.

“In addition to our Universal Smart X (USX) EDGETM air-cooled modular chiller, which has already been adopted by many data centre customers in Japan, the introduction of the AquaForce 30XFZ expands our ability to support a broad range of data centre applications, from enterprise and colocation facilities to hyperscale environments.

“By combining efficiency, resilience and scalability, the 30XFZ helps customers meet today’s operational demands while preparing for future growth.”

In addition to hardware, Carrier offers lifecycle support comprising advanced monitoring, preventive maintenance, and aftermarket servicing to maintain continuous data centre operations.

Carrier Japan is a business unit of Carrier Global Corporation, a climate and energy solutions provider listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
