Anthropic, Macquarie Asset Management and GIC have announced a new strategic initiative to develop, operate, and lease data centre infrastructure at scale through a new platform, Theseus Infrastructure.
This development aims to address Anthropic’s growing requirements for data centre capacity, which is driven by increased demand for its AI products.

The initial focus for identifying and developing new sites will be in the US, with Anthropic set to act as the anchor tenant at each location.
Funding for the new infrastructure platform will come primarily from funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management, alongside GIC.
The developments are expected to require significant capital investment and generate several construction and permanent operational jobs within the host communities.
In addition, Anthropic will cover electricity price increases that could otherwise affect consumers in relation to these data centre sites.
The partnership is designed to meet the growing demand for Anthropic’s products, including its Claude large language model, which the company says is seeing rapid uptake across business, developer, and consumer segments.
It will draw on Macquarie’s global experience in financing and operating large-scale digital infrastructure, as well as GIC’s history of infrastructure investment.
Anthropic’s main offering, Claude, is described as a large language model with millions of users globally.
GIC manages Singapore’s foreign reserves and operates as a global investment business with activities in real assets such as infrastructure.
Macquarie Asset Management is an investor and operator in digital infrastructure projects internationally.
Further details on specific data centre locations or project timelines were not disclosed.
Last month, TeraWulf signed a 20-year lease agreement with Anthropic for an AI infrastructure campus at the Justified Data site in Hawesville, Kentucky, US.
Under the terms of the deal, Anthropic is expected to generate around $19bn in contracted lease revenue for TeraWulf over the duration of the initial lease period.
