The acquisition will support plans for a new high-density data centre designed to handle AI workloads, expanding Telehouse’s existing London Docklands campus.

Power supply of 65MVA has already been secured for the site, providing a basis for phased, long-term development. The planned facility is expected to offer colocation services as well as low-latency connectivity.

Telehouse Europe managing director Mark Pestridge said: “The purchase of the Inventory Estate represents an important step in the long-term development of our London Docklands campus, one of Europe’s leading connectivity hubs.

“It provides space for future expansion to support our customers’ digital growth ambitions, including the crucial innovation that is taking place across industries such as healthcare, education, and financial services.”

The location’s proximity to Telehouse’s current campus gives the companies an opportunity to add capacity at scale. It also allows to draw on the connectivity ecosystem already operating at the Docklands site.

This latest expansion comes as land and power availability face growing constraints.

The deal follows the earlier announcement of Telehouse West Two, a nine-storey data centre building under construction at the same campus. That facility is due for completion in 2028.

Telehouse said the purchase reinforces its long-term commitment to investing in the digital infrastructure of the UK.

The company also stated it would continue engaging with local stakeholders and the Tower Hamlets community as plans for the new development progress and the focus would be on local investment, sustainable development and employment opportunities.
