Finnish industrial measurement company Vaisala has launched Vaisala Care for Data Centers, a service portfolio designed to help operators manage measurement accuracy, reliability and uptime across the lifecycle of their systems.
The move comes as data centres, driven by the rapid growth of AI, cloud, and digital services, face mounting challenges in maintaining the precision of environmental measurements vital for cooling, energy efficiency, and operational uptime.

The company’s new service range includes three options: Vaisala Care, Vaisala Care+, and Vaisala Commissioning Care.
These offerings cover areas such as accredited calibration, replacement probe pools, onsite and remote expert support, and commissioning-phase calibration documentation.
They are designed to support data centres across their entire lifecycle, from initial commissioning through ongoing operation.
Verification scopes within the portfolio may also be extended to cover selected third-party measurement devices with Vaisala’s approval.
Data centres typically operate hundreds of measurement instruments to monitor environmental parameters, which presents a growing calibration and documentation challenge as facilities expand.
Vaisala highlighted that even minor discrepancies in measurements, such as temperature or humidity, can create risks to cooling performance and uptime.
Vaisala service portfolio industrial measurements director Jonatan Hongisto said: “The data centre world runs on uptime. Even a minor measurement drift in humidity or temperature can cascade into cooling failures, hardware damage, or downtime. The cost of getting it wrong can be significant.
“As facilities grow, operators need a structured way to manage measurement performance and lifecycle support across hundreds of instruments.
“Accurate measurements are business-critical but maintaining them consistently over time has become increasingly difficult as data centres grow in size and complexity.”
The Vaisala Care services are tailored for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise-scale data centres. The portfolio works with Vaisala’s own Indigo, Origo, and compact probe measurement systems.
Pre-calibrated probes are available for rapid replacement, aiming to minimise maintenance time and reduce operational disruption.
