TECfusions in partnership with Apex Treasury has announced that the New Kensington data centre in Pennsylvania, US, is operational and providing graphics processing unit (GPU) capacity for AI and high-performance computing customers.
The new data centre, located around 30 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, is the latest addition to TECfusions’ portfolio.

It covers nearly 1,395 acres and is designed with adaptive reuse in mind to allow for rapid scaling and high-density computing.
The data centre is partly leased and already in operation, with plans to expand its total capacity to up to 3GW. TECfusions has structured its development model so that qualified customers can move from contract to deployment within six months.
The project’s development process follows guidelines from Executive Order 2026-05 and the Pennsylvania Governor’s Responsible Infrastructure Development (GRID) Requirements.
These state policies set standards for data centre projects, including commitments relating to energy affordability, community engagement, workforce and economic impacts, as well as environmental protection.
A key provision requires developers to bear the costs of new power infrastructure rather than passing those costs on to other energy consumers.
TECfusions founder Simon Tusha said: “Pennsylvania has set a clear standard: data centre development must be real, responsible and accountable to the communities in which it operates. New Kensington reflects that philosophy.
“We are already delivering GPU capacity, and our strategy is centred on securing and developing the power, infrastructure and operational capabilities required to support AI at scale.
“The barriers to entry are substantial, particularly around power, permitting, capital and execution, and TECfusions is well positioned to meet them with a compliant, infrastructure-first model.”
At present, the New Kensington site is powered by turbines. The long-term energy plan includes both dual utility supply and on-site microgrid generation, leveraging on-site assets such as two fracking pads and a gas-drying plant.
This strategy aims to provide reliable, scalable energy for high-demand computing tasks.
