Pure Data Centres Group (Pure DC) has announced a new AI-focused campus in Seinäjoki, Finland.
The company said the first phase of the project requires an investment exceeding €1.5bn ($1.7bn) and is set to provide 110MW of IT capacity.

The full scheme could expand to more than €7.5bn ($8.55bn) in value and over 550MW.
Pure DC reported that Phase 1 of the campus is already fully leased. The substation for the first data hall is constructed and operational. All necessary planning permissions and power arrangements for the initial phase are now in place.
The SJK01 data centre site occupies 370 acres and is being developed in partnership with SDC Ventures.
Once completed, the project will be able to serve mass-scale AI and machine learning workloads.
The campus will access more than 700MVA of renewable power, with Pure DC highlighting low energy costs and the reliability of the Finnish grid.
The design uses 40MW modular ‘AI-ready’ units, integrating direct liquid cooling (DLC) to meet the high thermal requirements of modern hardware.
Pure DC plans to introduce high-density data halls using modular construction for efficiency, predictability, and faster deployment. Facilities will accommodate both air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems.
Both approaches are based on closed-loop designs, with no operational water use, according to the company.
During development, the project is anticipated to create over 3,000 jobs over the course of the decade-long build. The company aims to work with local companies and support the upgrade of electrical and telecommunications infrastructure.
Waste heat management systems are planned, enabling future district heating projects.
Pure DC executive chairman and interim CEO Gary Wojtaszek said: “We are not building data centres in Seinäjoki. Together with our partners, including the Seinäjoki Municipality, we are helping create one of Europe’s most important AI ecosystems capable of supporting global tech leaders as well as the next generation of Finnish entrepreneurs and innovators.”
The company is working with Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and local vocational institutions to support specialist skills training and employment opportunities in the region.
