Adani Enterprises and Jabil have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish an equal-share joint venture (JV) focused on producing data centre and AI hardware in India.
The proposed JV intends to assemble and manufacture servers, storage units, networking equipment, and AI racks tailored for data centres and high-performance computing.
Access deeper industry intelligence
Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
Alongside computing hardware, the companies will produce support infrastructure, such as liquid-cooling systems, transformers, and power distribution units, while also offering installation and commissioning services.
The operations are planned to reach a multi-gigawatt AI rack manufacturing capacity, capable of supporting computing systems with a collective power capacity of several gigawatts.
Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani said: “The AI revolution will demand far more than just breakthroughs in algorithms. It will require an entire new industrial architecture where energy, hyperscale infrastructure, advanced computing and precision manufacturing converge to power the intelligence economy.”
“At Adani, our vision is to expand up the AI value chain evolving from powering and hosting AI infrastructure to engineering and manufacturing the critical systems that will define the next generation of computing.
“Our proposed joint venture with Jabil marks a strategic step towards this future, combining Jabil’s world-class engineering and manufacturing capabilities with Adani’s integrated strengths in energy, infrastructure and data centres to help build the physical backbone of the global AI economy.”
The JV aims to address domestic demand and supply export markets, with the two organisations calculating the global market opportunity at more than $3tn over the next seven years.
According to Adani Enterprises, India’s data centre capacity is projected to reach between 5GW and 8GW by 2030, driven by data localisation, cloud expansion, and AI adoption.
Domestic investments are supported by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and a data centre tax holiday until 2047 introduced in Union Budget 2026.
The JV aligns with Adani Group’s $100bn commitment to build 5GW of green-powered hyperscale data centres by 2035.
For Jabil, which recorded $36bn in revenue for fiscal year 2026, the MoU broadens its data centre footprint in India following earlier acquisitions of liquid-cooling specialist Mikros Technologies and power management firm Hanley Energy Group.
The preliminary agreement follows an initial alliance announced in June 2026, though execution remains subject to definitive contracts, regulatory approvals, and customary closing conditions.
Recently this month, CoreWeave partnered with AdaniConneX to secure 240MW of data centre capacity in Navi Mumbai, marking its entry into India.
