Hitachi has launched HMAX Data Center, a suite of solutions focused on integrating and optimising data centre infrastructure.
The new portfolio is designed to address the operational and sustainability challenges arising from increasing data centre demand and the accelerating adoption of artificial intelligence.

The HMAX Data Center suite includes integrated capabilities across energy, IT, and cooling infrastructure.
These solutions aim to enable autonomous operations, maintenance, and optimisation of data centre systems through AI-based technology.
Initially, Hitachi will offer an integrated management service, HARC for Data Center, to customers in North America.
HARC for Data Center is built on HARC, a system that Hitachi states has enhanced cloud operations for over 80 customers worldwide.
The service merges the group’s operational experience with physical AI, providing unified monitoring of various power, IT, and cooling systems from different vendors.
It also supports correlation analysis and suggests actions in response to equipment failures across organisations’ infrastructure.
Hitachi senior vice-president and executive officer, strategic social innovation business unit CEO Jun Taniguchi said: “Sustainable data centres require integrated control across infrastructure systems, rather than improvements to individual assets alone. The Hitachi Group brings together products, services, and operational expertise spanning energy, cooling, and IT workload management.

The HMAX Data Center service uses data from IT networks in addition to systems managing power, cooling, safety, and environmental monitoring.
A unified dashboard supports IT and OT security monitoring and anomaly detection, helping to maintain security and reliability.
Hitachi plans to expand the HMAX Data Center with future solutions developed in collaboration with customers and partners, focusing on areas such as energy optimisation, cooling efficiency, predictive maintenance, and capacity management.
The portfolio forms part of Hitachi’s wider offering in social infrastructure management and digital transformation for data centres.
