Exclaim Robotics, a Zürich-based startup focused on robotics for AI data centre maintenance, has emerged from stealth after completing a $5m pre-seed funding round.
The investment was co-led by Founderful and Playfair Capital.

The company plans to use the capital to develop autonomous mobile robots designed to carry out routine repair as well as maintenance tasks inside data centres supporting AI infrastructure.
Exclaim Robotics was established in 2026 by Helen Oleynikova, who has experience in robotics roles at Google, Willow Garage, Microsoft, Nvidia, and ETH Zürich.
Oleynikova was quoted by EU-Startups as saying: “The speed of innovation in data centre infrastructure is reminiscent of the space race: power density is pushing the whole industry to the edge of the laws of physics.
“Liquid cooling, 800V DC across the whole facility, possibly superconducting bus bars cooled with liquid nitrogen. Maintaining that by hand gets more dangerous every year, and that’s the part robots should take.”
The robotics platform under development by Exclaim Robotics aims to handle a range of maintenance scenarios inside data halls, including navigating to individual server racks and performing repairs from the floor to the top rail, without modifications to the building.
Initial tasks targeted by the robot will include cleaning and replacing optical and SFP network connectors, handling copper cabling, and replacing failed drives.
The company noted that the technology is being trained first in simulation before deployment in real data centre environments.
The founding team also includes engineer Patrick Pfreundschuh with two others expected to join in 2027.
Exclaim Robotics is currently hiring a Robotics Hardware Engineer and a Robotics Machine Learning Engineer.
